L'American Film Institute a dressé sa liste annuelle des 100 réparties les plus marquantes de l'histoire cinématographique américaine. Des bulletins de votes ont été expédiés à 1500 cinéastes, comédiens, critiques de cinémas et autres à Hollywood.
